Uttar Pradesh Board of Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has updated chapter-wise details of UP Board class 10 mathematics 2025. Students are required to cover all the topics before the UP Board Exam Date 2025

| 2 – Algebra | Polynomial Numbers: Polynomial numbers, Relation of coefficients and Zeros of Quadratic Polynomials, Statement of Division Algorithm for Polynomial with Real Coefficients and General Questions on it. Pair of Linear Equation with Two Variables: Pair of Linear Equation in Two variables, Solution of Linear Equation by Graphical Method, Algebraic Method of solving a Linear Equation – Replacement Method, Deletion Method and Cross multiplication method, Reversible equations in pair of linear equations of two variables. Quadratic Equation: Standard Quadratic Equation ax2+bx+c=0, (a not equal to 0), solve the quadratic equation by making it a perfect square by the quadratic formulas, Relationship between Discriminant of Quadratic equation and the nature of its roots, Day-to-day use of quadratic equations and questions based on them. Arithmetic Progression: Derivation of nth Series of Arithmetic Progression and sum of first n terms, Use of AP in solving problems related to real life. |
| 3 – Coordinate Geometry | Concept of coordinate Geometry, graph of linear equation, Distance Formula, Section Formula, Area of Triangle. |
| 4 – Geometry | Triangles: Definition and Example of Congruent Triangle A line drawn parallel to one side of a triangle divides the remaining two sides in equal proportion. The line that divides two sides of a triangle in equal proportion is parallel to the third side. Triangles are congruent if a pair of adjacent angles is equal and adjacent sides are proportional. Triangles are congruent if one angle of one triangle is equal to the corresponding angle of another triangle and their corresponding sides are proportional. If a perpendicular is placed on the Hypotenuse from the vertex of the right triangle, then the triangles on either side of the perpendicular line are mutual and identical to the original triangle. The ratio of area of congruent triangle is proportional to the squares of the corresponding sides. In the right angle triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. In a triangle, if the square of one side is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides, then the angle opposite the first side is the right angle. Circle – Tangent Line and Tangent Point of Circle The tangent line of the circle will be perpendicular to the radius passing through the tangent point. Two tangents drawn from an external point are equal in length. Construction Divide the given line segment in a given ratio Drawing a tangent from a point given outside the circle. Construction of Triangle congruent to given triangle. |
| 5 – Trigonometry | Introduction to trigonometry: Trigonometric ratios of acute angles of right triangles, Trigonometric ratios of 0 degree and 90 Degrees, Trigonometric ratio values (30͒, 45͒, 60͒, 0͒ & 90͒) and relationship between them. Trigonometric Identities: Establishing trigonometric identities and its application, trigonometric ratios of complementary angles. Height & Distance: Elevation angle, Depression angle, Basic questions on Height and Distance, Elevation and Depression angle should only be 30͒, 45͒ & 60͒. |
| 6 – Mensuration | Area of Circle: Area of Circle, Sector of Circle, Area of Segment, Area of combination of the above plane figures (Questions will be for 60͒, 90͒ & 120͒ angle only) Surface Area & Volume: Surface Area and Volume of plane shapes, connected by any two of the following – Cube, cuboid, sphere, hemisphere, ellipse, cylinder, cone and tapered cone, questions related to conversions of one kind of solid shape into another and other similar questions. |
| 7 – Statistics and Probability | Statistics: Mean, Median, Mode of classified data, cumulative frequency graph. Probability: Theoretical Definition of Probability, Questions based on a single event. |
