CBSE Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025 – Marking Scheme
- CBSE Class 12 marking scheme for most of the subjects are divided into two parts. An overview of exam pattern of each subject.
- For a theory paper, the written exam carries a weight age of 80 Marks. and internal assessment carries the weightage of 20 marks.
- For a subject with practical, the theory paper will carry 70 marks and 30 marks are reserved for practical.
- The internal assessment comprises practical exams, projects, on time book submission and overall performance throughout the year.
- Duration of exam for each paper is 3 hours to solve CBSE Class 12 Sample paper 2025.
- CBSE class 12 board exams are not influenced by negative marking scheme.

CBSE 12th class Board Exam- Marking scheme
All the students have to secure at least 33% CBSE pass marks in each subject to clear CBSE 12th exam including theory, practical and internal assessment. Also, the aggregate marks should be 33%. Students who fail to get 33% marks can appear for compartment exams to get a second chance.

- The time duration for the examination will be 3 hours.
- Each paper will carry 100 marks which will be divided in 2 section theory and practical or internal assessment.

- The nature of the questions will be competency based which includes MCQs, case-based questions and also source based questions.
