- No specification in the age limit for candidates to take the TANCET 2025 Entrance exam.
- Candidates should have passed 10+2 education schemes from a recognised education institute.
- Candidates who have completed their studies with the following degrees from a recognised University/college can apply for the entrance examination.

- 10+2 years diploma + 3 years pattern (OR)
- B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Arch/ B.Pharm. (OR)
- 10+2+AIME* (OR)
- 10+3 years diploma (awarded by the state board of technical education) + AIME
- Candidates should have qualified above said education criteria with minimum qualifying marks (50%.) For reserved category candidates, the minimum qualifying marks is 45% in any of the above-mentioned education aspects.
- Domicile residents of Tamil Nadu and other state residents can apply for the entrance exam.
- Candidates who clear GATE entrance with valid scores can apply for TANCET 2025.
- There are no limits to repeat the attempts. Candidates can take the exam until clear with high scores.
- Candidates who are pursuing final semester B.Tech/B.E and would likely to appear for final semester exams are able to take the entrance exam.
