- A total of 628 students had scored 30 or above.
- Of these 333 were from classes 8 to 11. All of them were selected as the upper limit of the number of selections for classes 8 to 11 is 500
- 295 were from class 12. As per class 12 criteria, a minimum of 5 students in each region were to be selected based on the qualifying criteria of a score of 30 or above.
