JEE Main 2023 Counselling – The schedule of JEE Main counselling 2023 will be announced by the JoSAA through online mode on their official website i.e. josaa.nic.in. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority will conduct the counselling for JEE Main 2023 in 7 rounds.

JEE Main counselling will be conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) in June. Students who qualified in JEE Main 2023 result will be eligible for JEE counselling to get admission into NIT, IIT & other top level engineering institutes. They will have to complete JEE Main 2023 counselling registration before the last date.

What is the procedure of JEE Main Counselling 2023?

The JEE Main counselling process is divided into various steps which are as given below:

Online Registration

Candidates will have to register to participate in the JEE Main counselling process. First, they need to go to the official website of joSAA. Then, login and fill all the registration details such as roll number and password. After filling all the important details, click on the “Confirm Registration” button.

Choice Filling and Locking

Candidates are required to pay any fee for choice filling and locking. They must have to fill and lock their choices by the login. Candidates must fill the maximum choices for the seat allotment. After filling all the choices, do not forget to lock them. 

Provisional JEE Main 2023 Seat Allotment

Seat will be allotted to the candidates as per the filled choices and JEE Main 2023 cutoff. Candidates must take the printout of the “Provisional Seat Allocation Letter” and e-challan for the seat acceptance. At the time of accepting the seat, candidates will have to choose freeze, slide or float options for subsequent rounds.

Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment

The seat acceptance fee will be Rs. 20,000/- for reserved categories and Rs. 45,000/- for general candidates. Candidates will have to pay the fee through e-challan and SBI net banking. 

Documents required for verification after JEE Main Seat Allotment

For the verification of documents, candidates after accepting the allotted seats have to visit the reporting centers set up by joSAA. Given below are the documents which candidates must have at the time of reporting.

  • JEE Main seat allotment letter issued by JoSAA.
  • Three passport size photographs (have to be the same as uploaded during registration).
  • A government-issued photo identity card.
  • Proof of fee payment for JEE Main seat acceptance.
  • Date of birth proof.
  • JEE Main Admit Card 2023.
  • Class 12 Mark sheet.
  • JEE Main 2023 Score Card.
  • Category certificate (if applicable).

What after JEE Main 2023 Counselling?

After JEE Main Seat Allotment and counselling is done, candidates will be having three options available which are as given below:

  • Freeze – When the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and does not wish to participate in the further rounds of counselling.
  • Float – When the candidate is satisfied with the seat but would like to be considered for other institutes during the future rounds of seat allocation.
  • Slide – When the candidate has accepted the seat allotted but is also open for admission into a higher preferred course in the same institute.
