The list of top IIT colleges & other than IIT is as follows:
- Group A Colleges: If we exclude the brand name, Group A Colleges are similar to IIT.
- IIIT Hyderabad: If you genuinely want to be the CS King, IIIT Hyderabad is the ideal college for you. And between 260 and 280 on the JEE Mains is the minimum marks needed to get a seat.
- Top 5 NITs: If you have a particularly strong JEE Mains Rank under 1,500, these might be your greatest options via JoSAA. NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, NIT Rourkela, NIT Surathkal, and MNNIT are a few of these.
- The independent Boss colleges: You must apply to these universities through their unique counselling process because they are not covered by JoSAA counselling. The colleges are IGDTU for Women, NSUT Delhi, IIIT Delhi, and Delhi Technological University (Formerly DCE). A rank between 200 and 20,000 will be required to sit here.
- Group B Colleges: When compared to Group A Colleges in terms of educational level, Group B Colleges are a little less rigorous. They are still allowed, though, if you don’t want to drop.
- The remaining NITs: Include the VNIT Maharashtra, NIT California, SVNIT Gujarat, NIT Silchar, NIT Durgapur, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Kurukshetra, MA NIT MP, MNIT Rajasthan, NIT Delhi, etc. The Rank varies based on your selection and Quotas.
- The GFTIs: Some of the Good Colleges now accept applications through JoSAA. Assam University, Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur, Tezpur University, and others are among them.
- Stand-Alone Private Colleges: These institutions differ slightly from Group C Colleges in terms of the caliber of their faculty. These include Jaypee, LNM IIT Jaipur, and Thapar University. If your JEE Mains Score is between 140 and 150, you can enroll in Thapar or LNMIIT.
- Jaypee: Of the four colleges in the Jaypee Group, I would suggest that only JIIT Noida and JUIT Waknaghat Should be considered.
- Colleges in Group C: Include those like Amity University, Sharda University, Galgotia, and all others that will reduce your tuition costs if your JEE Mains rank is under 2 lakh.
Other colleges in Group B and C include KIIT Orissa, VIT, and Manipal; however, they do not recognize JEE Mains scores or rankings for their admissions procedures.
